About
For my thesis I am researching multi-purpose floodwater defense projects that have a dominant social function. I am particularly interested in answering two questions through my research: 1) How can innovative designs and alternative uses of urban riverfront flood defenses incorporate and enhance civic and economic functions within the urban core? 2) Is it possible to equally and simultaneously combine technical and spatial solutions in the design of muli-functional flood defenses?
